About School

History

Government Shah Abdul Latif High School, Tando Adam, is one of the oldest and most respected educational institutions in the region. The institution was originally established in 1911 as Narayan Das Kundar Mal Academy with only five classes, laying the foundation for quality education in the area.

After the creation of Pakistan in 1947, the academy was taken into government administration and renamed National Muslim Academy. At that time, the number of students ranged between 15 and 20, and efforts were made to reorganize education according to the needs of the new nation.

In 1954, the institution was upgraded to the status of a High School, and Mr. Anwar Ali Pathan was appointed as Headmaster. The school then had only three classrooms and 22 students, but with dedication and vision, the journey of progress began.

Dedicated educators, including the late Mr. Muhammad Sabir Soomro, played a vital role in strengthening the academic environment. With time, more teachers were appointed, facilities expanded, and the standard of education steadily improved.

In 1964, additional classrooms were constructed to accommodate the growing number of students. By 1967, the school was fully integrated into the Government Education System, enabling the introduction of modern teaching practices and improved infrastructure.

Over the decades, the school has continued to evolve, producing generations of students who now serve the nation in various professional fields.

At present, the school stands as a recognized symbol of academic excellence and strong community trust. It currently serves over 1,800 students, supported by a dedicated faculty of more than 50 highly qualified teachers. The institution benefits from the services of subject specialists in Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, English, Urdu, Sindhi, Physics, and Chemistry, ensuring quality instruction across all major disciplines. In addition, a qualified Engineer contributes to the development of technical education. The school is well equipped with modern educational facilities, including fully functional science laboratories, a computer laboratory, a library, and spacious classrooms, all of which together provide a conducive and effective learning environment.
